Control Techniques UK Environmental Policy
Control Techniques Drives Ltd. manufactures a comprehensive
range of advanced Electronic Variable-Speed Drives in a
purpose-built 13,000 square metre plant on Mochdre Industrial
Estate in Newtown, Powys. The manufacturing process comprises two
principal phases:
1. Printed Circuit Board Assembly.
2. Module Assembly, using finished Printed Circuit Boards from
the first phase.
An on-site Service/Repair facility refurbishes and upgrades
returned products, offering a full range of service-exchange units
and spares.
Our commitment to continual environmental improvement is
demonstrated through the implementation of a formal Environmental
Management System (EMS) which is certified under the International
Standard ISO 14001.
The EMS helps us to fulfil our two main obligations, which
are:
- To maintain compliance with all relevant environmental
legislation, as detailed in our Register of Environmental
Legislation (doc. ref. ENV0007)
- To prevent pollution by reducing, as far as is practicable, any
environmental risks arising from our operations
The means by which we intend to improve our environmental
performance are as follows:
- Training and Employee Development
- Improving Energy Efficiency
- Improving Efficiency of Resource Usage
- Reducing Waste and Scrap and improving Waste Management
- Encouraging our Suppliers and Contractors to improve their own
environmental performance
This Policy is a Controlled Document, and is subject to annual
review by Senior Management.
